Before we create a connection between Activio and FitnessPlayer, we need to make sure we have a
Activio instructor account and a FitnessPlayer account. If either of these is missing, we need to create it.
Keep reading the guide – we’ll take everything step by step.
Activio registration: https://my.activiofitness.com/
Please note: If you are creating a new Activio account, you will need to verify the account via the email sent to
the address you have provided. This must be done in order for the account to be activated and for you to log
in and use it.
Once we have created an Activio instructor account or ensured that we can log in to an existing account,
we can move on.
Create Fitnessplayer account
After we have logged in with our Activio instructor account on the portal (https://my.activiofitness.com/).
we need to navigate to “USER PROFILE” and then click on “LOGIN
FITNESSPLAYER”. If we do not have a FitnessPlayer account, we can create a new FitnessPlayer account
by clicking on “Register for FitnessPlayer”.
Please note: The FitnessPlayer username and password fields can sometimes be filled in automatically by the
browser. However, there is a risk that the browser will fill in the username and password for Activio
instead of FitnessPlayer.
Create a link between Activio and Fitnessplayer
We now have a Fitnessplayer account and an Activio instructor account, to make the connection between these
we just need to fill in our Fitnessplayer username and password and agree to the terms and conditions
by clicking on “I agree”.
Please note: We do not store FitnessPlayer usernames or passwords. If the wrong password is entered,
will send the user an error message. For problems with FitnessPlayer we will refer customers to
FitnessPlayer.
If a valid username and password have been entered, a small green box will appear with the message that the
connection has been created.
Add Fitnessplayer playlist to workouts
After we have created the connection, we can start using Fitnessplayer to add
playlists to our workouts. We can also add playlists to our already existing workouts.
Please note: We can only add playlists to passes that we have created ourselves. If someone shares a passport
with us, we need to create a copy of the passport first.
New passport
We start as usual when creating passports by clicking on “+ ADD NEW CLASS
PROFILE”. We select the type and give the passport a profile name and description.
Warning: If Fitnessplayer is not unfolded, just click on “Fitnessplayer” and it will unfold
itself.
We then select playlist on the far right by default it says no playlist, which is an option in case
we do not want any playlist linked to that particular pass.
After we have selected a playlist, we can choose to either import the waveform from Fitnessplayer. Or to export our waveform from the workout to Fitnessplayer.
Keep in mind: the pass needs content blocks for us to have something to export to Fitnessplayer.
When we are satisfied, we save the passport as usual.
Existing passport
To add a playlist to an existing pass, we need to click on the 3
dots at the end then select “EDIT”. We can then choose which playlist we
want to use just like when we created a new pass
Remember: don’t forget to save the passport so the playlist you have selected is added to the passport.
Prepare media players
Before Activio can be used with FitnessPlayer, we need to prepare a media player. A
media player can be any device capable of running mobile apps (iOS or Android).
FitnessPlayer does not offer programs for Windows or other desktop OS.
- Install FitnessPlayer from the App Store or Google Play.
- Log in with the same FitnessPlayer account that was linked to the Activio portal.
- Allow FitnessPlayer to communicate with other devices by:
- Click on the icon of a person in the top right corner.
- Go to settings (cogwheel).
- Enable “Allow Remote Control” (it will say “Connected” in brackets).
- To manually synchronize playlists, click on “My Playlists” at the bottom and then on
“Refresh All” in the top right corner.
Keep in mind: Manual syncing saves time and ensures that all songs are available.
Running sessions with Fitnessplayer
To follow this part of the guide, you will need an Activio system and a prepared media player
(e.g. in a spinning room).
- Log in to the media player and ensure that “Allow Remote Control” is enabled.
- Log in with the same instructor account that was linked to FitnessPlayer.
- Click on the whistle to select a pass.
- Select the workout that has a FitnessPlayer playlist attached.
Activio will then check the FitnessPlayer status and display available devices. It takes 2-3 seconds.
Click on “No music playback” to select a device/media player. If the device is missing, click
on “Update devices”.
